About

Preaching the truth

At Grand Prairie, we believe in preaching and teaching the Bible as we believe it is God’s word revealed to us without error.

Guidance in Truth

The Bible is our ultimate source of truth given to us by a loving God so that we can know Him personally and grow in relationship with Him.

We are not alone

The Holy Spirit provides us with the power and strength to help us worship in the Spirit and the truth.

Lead others to Him

Jesus’ words in Matthew 28:16-20 are known as the Great Commission. These verses instruct believers to “Make Disciples” and that is our desire and our ministry focus.

Same location since 1867

Grand Prairie Baptist Church in Brush Ridge has long persevered since its formation in January 1867.

The church, initially meeting in a school, built its first frame structure in 1868, which was destroyed by fire and replaced with the current brick building in 1894. Despite challenges, including service interruptions during the Great Depression and another fire in 1939, the church community persisted, holding services at nearby Morral Baptist Church during repairs. Significant renovations occurred in 1961, with updates to the auditorium and educational unit.
